LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — Thanksgiving Day poses the highest risk for home cooking fires in the United States, with a 388% greater chance of fire than any other day of the year, according to the National Fire Protection Association.
MJ Lierman with Lincoln Fire and Rescue said the increased activity in kitchens during the holiday makes fire prevention crucial for families preparing their meals.
