OGLE COUNTY, Ill. (WTVO) — Police said a Polo man was under the influence of alcohol and drugs when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer and crashed early Saturday morning.
The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to the scene, near the intersection of S. Lowell Park Road and W. Pines Road, west of White Pines Forest State Park, around 12:30 a.m.
Investigators determined that Brian Arriola, 35, was driving a black 2014 Dodge Journey westbound in the 800 block of W Pines Road when he swerved to avoid the deer and lost control of the vehicle, launching over a field entrance, striking a ditch embankment, and coming to a stop in the eastbound lane of traffic…
