1 dead, 3 hospitalized after Saturday morning crash

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — One teenager is dead and three passengers are hospitalized following an early morning crash Saturday at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport.

At Monday’s police briefing, Sioux Falls Police Spokesman Sgt. Aaron Benson said a 17-year-old girl has died from her injuries sustained in the crash. The other three occupants’ conditions are unknown.

No further information is being released due to the ongoing investigation.

The US National Weather Service (NWS) in Sioux Falls posted photos on Facebook of their building, which the SUV ran into.

The post also said once the building was hit, the on-duty forecaster contacted the National Weather Service in Aberdeen to help provide backup until the hole in the building was patched up. The NWS building opened up at 7 a.m. Monday and crews continue to clean up the damage…
