Community heroes relax and reconnect at Little Fins’ free swim event

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Little Fins Swim School opened its 94-degree saltwater pools on Sunday, Nov. 23, to support families affected by the recent government shutdown.

The swim school invited teachers, healthcare workers, first responders, active-duty military, and veterans to enjoy a free hour of open swim, providing them with a chance to relax and spend time together.

“Having them come here, and play in the pool, splashing around, enjoying each other, enjoying their families and friends, and us. It is amazing to see how people who do such serious work can also be kids again,” said Koryn Skalsky, the lead instructor and training manager at Little Fins Swim School…
