Asheville receives $2.4M for Biltmore Village’s Helene recovery

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The City of Asheville has been awarded $2.4 million in state Helene recovery grants to aid in the restoration of Biltmore Village.

This funding will be used to rebuild 3,000 square yards of historic brick sidewalks and replace sidewalk curbing to enhance stormwater runoff in the area.

“We’re really thrilled for this money because this is important infrastructure support for Biltmore Village at a time we have seen severe impacts from Helene, and this is the first public money that we have seen coming into the village to help support our recovery,” said Kara Irani, Biltmore Village Association’s public relations director.
