This past summer, in response to rising youth violence, Cincinnati began enforcing a citywide 11 p.m. curfew on Aug. 15, 2025, and added a stricter 9 p.m. curfew on Nov. 12 for unaccompanied minors on and near Short Vine.
In response to multiple shootings reported on Halloween weekend, Cincinnati City council approved a new emergency 9 p.m. curfew for a two-block stretch of Short Vine Street (between Daniels Street and Corry Street) near the University of Cincinnati’s (UC) main campus.
