WEATHER AWARE: Tuesday PM–Early Wednesday: Risk for Damaging Winds & Heavy Rain

A Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) for severe thunderstorms beginning at 3PM in the first round. It continues through late evening  through 3AM Wednesday, exiting south and east of Columbus:

  • Locally damaging wind gusts of 40–60 mph
  • Isolated hail up to quarter size
  • A low-end risk for a brief tornado

Much-needed rainfall is also expected. Many areas across East Alabama and Central Georgia may receive a soaking of around 1″, with localized totals over 2″.

The final line along the physical cold front is possible. Lower amounts are expected farther southeast of Columbus through 3AM.
