WALKER, MI – As chicken lovers flock to the new Raising Cane’s that opened in Kentwood last week, the popular chain is planning to add another location in the Grand Rapids area.
A new Raising Cane’s restaurant has been proposed at 3179 Alpine Ave. NW in Walker, with construction expected to begin by July 2026. The Walker Planning Commission approved the site plans for the new restaurant and special land use for a drive-thru on Nov. 19.
With close access to I-96, the restaurant will be built on the site of a vacant former TGI Fridays, which will be demolished as part of the project. The new 3,100-square-foot building will have a double drive-thru, indoor dining and outdoor patio seating…
