FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Police said that a man in his 50s was hospitalized after falling into a manhole in Fresno Monday.
At around 5:30 p.m. on Cedar and Shaw avenues, a man fell into an AT&T underground fiber optic box. The man sustained a broken leg and was transported to Community Medical Regional Center.
Crews had closed the fiber box, and “Caution do not enter” tape was put over it and around it. Cones were also put on top of the fiber box once it was closed.
No other information was given. It is unclear why the fiber box was open…
