LOUISIANA — A 14-year-old girl has been arrested after authorities discovered a newborn dead inside a tote bag at a Denham Springs residence, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Medical staff at Our Lady of the Lake contacted deputies after the teen sought treatment and revealed she had recently given birth at home. Deputies went to the residence, where they found that the girl had delivered a baby and placed the body in a tote to hide it.
EMS located the bag and found the infant dead with extensive neck injuries. An autopsy later confirmed the death was a homicide. Medical personnel said the baby was full term, born alive, and killed immediately after birth. Authorities believe the teen had concealed her pregnancy from her family…
