DOLTON, Ill. (WGN) — Former Dolton police chief Lewis Lacey has agreed to plead guilty in a personal bankruptcy fraud case and is cooperating with a broader investigation, according to language in his agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s office.
Lacey, a former top ally of ousted mayor Tiffany Henyard, was charged with lying about his income during bankruptcy proceedings. Another former top aide to Henyard, Keith Freeman, was hit with similar charges and is also believed to be cooperating.
Lewis’ plea agreement specifically states that he agrees to “provide complete and truthful information in any investigation… and any criminal, civil or administrative proceeding.”
