An Uber delivery driver in South Austin faced a shocking altercation during a routine drop-off, resulting in the arrest of a 31-year-old man. Last Tuesday, the delivery turned violent when the customer, identified as Joshua Sol Huart, allegedly assaulted the driver with a plastic grocery bag. According to a report by CBS Austin, the incident occurred after the driver requested valid identification to complete an alcohol delivery at a home on Birlandier Court.
The situation escalated when Huart’s mother presented an expired ID, which the driver could not accept. In response to the request for an alternate form of identification, Huart allegedly approached the driver and placed the bag over his head while uttering “I got you,” according to CBS Austin. The driver fortunately managed to break free from the bag and swiftly contacted police, reporting that he was struck in the top lip during the confrontation.
Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found Huart appearing to be distressed and crying. In a statement obtained by FOX San Antonio, Huart admitted he was unsure why he reacted that way and claimed a lack of a violent history.
