86-year-old woman burglarized while visiting husband’s grave

KANEOHE, Oahu (KHON2) — What started as just any other day quickly turned into a disaster when an 86-year-old woman became a victim of theft.

Her purse and all her important belongings were stolen while visiting her husband’s grave at the Hawaii Memorial Park Cemetery in Kaneohe on Saturday, Nov. 22.

“I lost everything, I don’t even have a wallet anymore,” the victim said, who did not want to be identified for safety purposes. “They took my purse, took my credit cards, my prescription glasses, took my bag, took my cell phone, I couldn’t call anybody, I was stranded. I felt so violated.”

The victim, who visits her husband’s grave every day, said this particular afternoon, she was approached by a younger woman wearing an all black hoodie. She initially engaged her in friendly conversation, but she quickly grew uncomfortable when she continued to ask personal questions, such as her husband’s name…
