BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — After months of waiting, new oil drilling permits will soon be up for grabs here in Kern County.
“Starting Jan. 2, applications can be filed at the county. We’ve been beefing up our staff. We’ve been reorganizing and, of course, preparing for a new training planning department staff to be ready for what we believe is really a hopeful new chapter for Kern County. We want to see lots of oil application permits. We’re going to get them turned around real quick in about a week,” said Kern County Board of Supervisors Chair, Leticia Perez.
