North Charleston child with rare blood disease cleared for Make-A-Wish Disney trip

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A North Charleston child battling a rare disease is about to take the trip of a lifetime after spending nearly two years in the hospital going through treatment.

Jaxson Foxwell, also known as Jax, was recently cleared to go on his Make-A-Wish event to Disney World. He was surrounded by friends, family and classmates to celebrate this milestone in his recovery.

Jax was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia, a rare blood disease where bone marrow fails to produce enough blood cells. He underwent a bone marrow transplant, donated by his brother Brixxton, a considered rare-case perfect match…
