Greensboro Residents Submit 38 New Neighborhood Traffic Safety Projects for 2025

The City of Greensboro’s Department of Transportation (GDOT) has received 38 new project submissions for the 2025 Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP). The NTMP began in 2024. It connects residents with city transportation staff to address issues like speeding, high traffic, and pedestrian safety. The program uses engineering and educational measures. Residents can view current and past submissions on the city’s NTMP map and website. This tool shows ongoing concerns about neighborhood road safety.

City staff are reviewing the 2025 submissions. They will determine which streets meet the program’s criteria. Projects that qualify will move forward in 2026. Since the program started, the NTMP has received 388 project submissions.

Recent projects include a pop-up on Pembroke Road. There, semi-permanent delineators reduced vehicle speeds by 15 percent and lowered traffic volume. On David Caldwell Drive and nearby streets, temporary traffic calming measures are in place. More community consultations are planned in the coming months…
