Videos showing a violent assault in Hermosa Beach have drawn widespread attention online, prompting police to urge the public to share evidence directly with investigators rather than reposting it publicly.
According to a statement posted on Instagram by the Hermosa Beach Police Department, the attack occurred on Nov. 21. Patrol officers arrived “within minutes,” the department said, and detectives were brought in shortly afterward to begin the investigation. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
