Mayor Evans announces plans to update City of Rochester’s flag

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — On the 50th anniversary of the Flower City logo, Mayor Malik Evans announced plans to update the City of Rochester’s official flag.

“We are the only city with such an iconic and beloved trademark. I’ve seen people that have the city mark tattooed on their arms and legs. You see it on city vehicles, on uniforms—you see it everywhere,” Evans said.

Evans proposed legislation on Monday morning to add the Flower City logo to the official city flag. He also outlined the city’s plans for a full year of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the symbol, starting in 2026.
