AUDIO: Former Kalamazoo commissioner Don Cooney gives farewell message

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Don Cooney left a message before he stepped down as Kalamazoo city commissioner last week, one impacted by the state of affairs nationally and the airing of Ken Burns’ American Revolution.

He noted the PBS documentary stressed the founders went beyond simply seeking independence, also recognizing the inalienable rights and the dignity and worth of each person, and we see how far we have strayed from those goals.
