JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A woman who was charged in connection to the abduction of two Louisiana girls, which ended with one of them deceased in Mississippi, has been sentenced after pleading guilty in the case.
Homicide investigation in Mobile follows shooting death
Victoria Cox appeared before Circuit Judge Winston Kidd at the Hinds County Courthouse on November 24, 2025. Cox pled guilty to second-degree murder and kidnapping. The sexual battery charge against her was dropped.
Kidd sentenced Cox to 40 years for second-degree murder and 25 years for kidnapping. She will have to serve her sentences concurrently in the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
Daniel Callihan, the man who was charged in connection to the case, recently pled guilty to the charges in Mississippi. In Hinds County court, Callihan pled guilty to capital murder, two counts kidnapping and two counts sexual battery on September 29, 2025. He was sentenced to life in prison for the capital murder and sexual battery charges, as well as 30 years each on the two kidnapping charges…
