If you’re a fan of the Italian beef sandwich, then there’s a festival coming up in Illinois that you won’t want to miss.
Illinois To Host An Italian Beef Festival This Weekend
The state of Illinois is definitely a place for foodies. In fact, I think it’s the best in the whole United States. There are so many great chefs and restaurants here. The signature dishes are some of my favorites of all time, like stuffed-crust pizza, the Chicago-style hot dog, and of course, the Italian beef sandwich.
I remember having my very first Italian beef sandwich. It was love at first bite. My experience was at Portillo’s. I grew up in the town where it all began. We also had a bunch of “mom and pop” beef stands all around us, so it was in regular rotation at my house.
I was super excited to find out that there’s an Italian Beef Festival. It’s held at the Double Play Saloon in Blue Island. The event is on Saturday, November 29th from 11am to 4pm. Some of the best Italian beef stands in the Chicago area will be there serving up there best. To top it all off, there will be a Giardiniera Bar.
