WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — After spending sleepless summer nights sweating without working air conditioning, the mother of one Northwest D.C. family says the first weeks of winter have been spent without proper heating.
Christina Perry, mother of four, says her three-bedroom rented home inside the Pinnacle Apartments on Peabody Street is “beyond cold.”
“My kids [at] three or four in the morning, they go to sleep at 7, 8 o’clock at night, they’re whining, ‘Mommy, I’m cold. I’m cold,’” Perry said Monday.
Clutching her pet cat, seven-year-old Camoni says her furry friend “meows” throughout the night “because she’s cold.”
