Brown Elementary Fourth Grader Wins Top Prize in Nevada Reading Week Art Contest

The Nevada Department of Education has announced the winners of the 2026 Nevada Reading Week student art contest. Addison Littlefield, a fourth-grade student at Brown Elementary School in the Washoe County School District, won the grand prize. This is the first time an elementary school student has received the top honor in the contest. The announcement took place in Carson City. The contest is part of Nevada Reading Week, scheduled for March 2-6, 2026, with the theme ‘Book an Adventure.’

Dr. Victor Wakefield, Superintendent of Public Instruction, recognized Addison’s work. Addison’s mother, Kate Littlefield, described her as determined and hardworking. Addison’s teacher, Andria King, noted her focus and dedication.

Addison’s design will be used as the official logo for Nevada Reading Week 2026. The logo will appear on t-shirts, the event website, and other materials. T-shirts featuring the artwork are available for order now through January 21, 2026, on the Nevada Reading Week website…
