Dramatic Bodycam Footage Shows Arrest of “Slender Man” Stabber After Group Home Escape

Posen, IL – Newly released police body camera video offers a compelling look at the moments authorities apprehended Morgan Geyser, the Wisconsin woman infamous for her role in the 2014 “Slender Man” stabbing, after she walked away from a group home last weekend. Geyser, 23, was located at a truck stop in Posen, Illinois, approximately 25 miles south of Chicago, around 9 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the Posen Police Department, Geyser had removed her electronic ankle monitor and departed from her Madison, Wisconsin, group home. She was last seen with an adult acquaintance on Saturday evening around 8 p.m.

The body camera footage, obtained by Fox News Digital, documents officers responding to a report of a male and female loitering behind the truck stop. Upon arrival, they discovered Geyser and a man sleeping on a sidewalk.

During the initial attempts to identify her, Geyser reportedly shook her head in refusal, stating, “I don’t want to give you my name.” Officers pressed for her identity, with one deputy humorously asking, “You’re not wanted for murder, right?”

After several minutes of evasive responses, Geyser finally conceded that she didn’t want to disclose her name because she had “done something really bad” and suggested the officers “just Google” her. She then provided a false name, which officers quickly challenged.

The persistent questioning continued until Geyser eventually wrote her name on a piece of paper, leading to her arrest. Emotional footage shows Geyser pleading with officers to say goodbye to her companion, asserting that the individual was unaware of her identity and that she “will never see her again.” She then remained silent as she was escorted to the police vehicle.

The man found with Geyser was identified as 43-year-old Chad Mecca. He was also taken into custody and subsequently released after being charged with criminal trespassing and providing false information to police, as reported by FOX6.

Posen police indicated that the pair had traveled by Greyhound bus from Wisconsin to Chicago before walking to Posen. Mecca reportedly told WKOW, “She ran because of me.”

Geyser and Anissa Weier were both 12 years old when they lured their sixth-grade classmate, Payton Leutner, into a Waukesha, Wisconsin, park in 2014 and stabbed her 19 times in an attempt to appease the fictional horror character “Slender Man.” Geyser pleaded guilty in 2017 to attempted first-degree intentional homicide but maintained she was not responsible due to mental illness.

Initially committed to a psychiatric hospital for 40 years, Geyser was granted release into a group home earlier this year by a Wisconsin judge, despite objections from prosecutors.

Geyser’s attorney has not yet responded to requests for comment. Geyser is slated to appear in court on Tuesday for an extradition hearing to Wisconsin.
