COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — After being activated at the end of October due to expiring SNAP benefits, the One SC Fund is granting more than $400,000 to four regional food banks to help serve all 46 counties across the state.
Beneficiaries of the money include Harvest Hope Food Bank which is getting more than $140,000 to help serve 20 counties. The funds will help provide food at no cost to distribution partners and purchasing higher cost items including eggs, milk, and fresh meat.
“Thinking about our own holiday meals and thinking of preparing our own families thanksgiving dinner, it’s important to remember its our food banks providing a thanksgiving dinner for people in our community who would not otherwise be able to celebrate”…
