Priceville assistant police chief files age discrimination complaint

PRICEVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Priceville’s assistant police chief filed an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaint against Priceville, alleging age discrimination after being passed over for the police chief position.

Assistant Police Chief Jason Wilbanks submitted the EEOC complaint claiming his eligibility to retire prevented him from getting the job despite having superior qualifications and decades of service in supervisory roles.

Wilbanks started with the department in 2002. He has served in the roles of Corporal, Sergeant, and even acting chief in 2022. He has been in his role as assistant chief since May 2022…
