A peculiar situation has been reported where a resident experienced an unexpected increase in their energy bills from the Board of Water & Light (BWL). The resident, who had moved out of their house in the first week of September, noticed that their energy usage was higher than when they were living in the house. Despite the house being empty for most of September and all of October, BWL reported usage of 740 kWh in September and 570 kWh in October. This was more than any month from October 2024 to May 2025 when the resident was actually living there.
