National Guard soldier deployed to District dies in off-duty incident

A soldier from the Alabama National Guard sent to the District as part of Joint Task Force-D.C. died in a non-duty-related incident in the city earlier this month, officials said.

Staff Sgt. Jacob Hill of the Alabama National Guard 1166th Military Police Company died in the District on Nov. 13th, Joint Task Force-D.C. officials told defense industry news site Task & Purpose.

Military officials have not publicly disclosed where in the District Staff Sgt. Hill died, his cause of death or what Staff Sgt. Hill was doing at the time of his death. Army officials are continuing to investigate the incident…
