MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A fire that erupted in a vacant building next to Rodgers BBQ on St. Stephens Road forced employees to evacuate and threatened the popular restaurant before firefighters contained the blaze.
Several employees were working when the building next door burst into flames. The kitchen heated up instantly, forcing staff to evacuate within moments.
“It got really hot. So the boss man went outside and he came back in and said ‘call the fire department’! We went outside and it was just smoke, black smoke everywhere and so much of it,” said Emire Tisdale, a Rodgers BBQ employee…
