Northern California police catch teen speeding at 109 mph on US-50 to ‘meet girlfriend’

(FOX40.COM) — A teen driver was pulled over after speeding at more than 100 mph because he didn’t want to be late to meet his girlfriend, according to the California Highway Patrol. • What cities have the worst drivers?

Over the weekend, a 17-year-old driver was stopped on US-50 in East Sacramento for allegedly speeding at 109 mph. When asked why he was driving so fast, officers said he responded that he didn’t want to be late meeting his girlfriend.

“There is never a valid reason to drive at such excessive speeds,” CHP said. “It’s extremely dangerous not only for you, but for everyone sharing the road. Please slow down, make safe decisions, and help keep the roadways safe for everyone.”…
