East Manatee County-based Benderson Development is planning a 52-acre mixed-use project in south Sarasota County. The developer plans to bring both retailers and experiences to a site within the master-planned community of Wellen Park, which is located near Venice and North Port.
The new development will be on South Tamiami Trail at the intersection of West Villages Parkway. Benderson recently purchased the 52-acre property there, according to Benderson spokesperson Julie Fanning, who declines to disclose the cost.
When built, the mixed-use development will bring a mix of local, regional and national tenants to the area, including retail and restaurants. While Benderson has some tenants in mind, Fanning says it is too early to share any names…
