BLOOMINGDALE, Ga. (WSAV) – At 18 years old, Lawrence Rivers was stopped by a Bloomingdale Police officer the night of June 8 while on his way to a home cooked dinner with his friends.
Moments later Rivers was accosted, threatened and forced to the ground in handcuffs as shown in the officer’s body camera video.
The video shows the now former Bloomingdale Police Officer Ashton Tatum appearing to threaten and point a gun at Rivers after stopping him for allegedly road racing on Pine Barren Road.
Tatem is heard saying “get out of the f—ing car… I’ll break your g—–n wrists… Don’t move or I’ll blow you away,” while pointing his weapon at Rivers…
