Father accused of murdering 6-month-old son pleads not guilty

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — The soldier accused of murdering 6-month-old Liam Rye entered a not guilty plea in a Chatham County courtroom Monday morning.

Landon Rye is facing two counts of felony murder, one count of aggravated assault and one count of cruelty to children in the first degree. His son, Liam, died in 2023 in a cause that was deemed suspicious by the Chatham County Coroner’s Office.
