Pender County announces ban on electric bikes, scooters and skateboards in county parks

PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Pender County has released an update to one of its governing policies regarding county parks.

In a Facebook post, Pender County Parks and Recreation announced that e-bikes, e-skateboards, and e-scooters are no longer permitted in any Pender County–owned or maintained parks.

Included in the restriction is the use of any of the aforementioned motorized vehicles on any county:

  • Trails
  • Athletic fields
  • Playgrounds
  • Courts
  • Picnic shelters
  • Restrooms
  • Batting cages
  • Other park amenities
  • The Penderland Greenway and the Sloop Point Loop Road Multi-Use Path
