WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Amazing America) — A visit to the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens in West Palm Beach, Florida, provides a glimpse into the mind and home of one of America’s most noted sculptors. It is a place where art and nature not only coexist but blend to create a perfectly serene.
Ann Weaver Norton, born in Selma, Alabama, would eventually find herself in New York City, honing her craft and displaying her works in the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art. She married Ralph Norton, the director of the Norton Museum, and the couple settled in Florida, where together, over three decades, they developed the gardens into what we know today.
The gardens span two acres and include nine of her sculptures showcasing not only her love of the world and nature, but also the influence of the Art Deco style and Cubism.
