DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (KMDL-FM) – The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is reporting the arrest of a 14-year-old girl after a deceased newborn infant was found inside of a tote bag at a Denham Springs, Louisiana residence.

Our Lady of the Lake staffers alerted authorities after a young girl seeking treatment revealed she had just given birth at her house. After receiving the call from Our Lady of the Lake, officers went to the teen girl’s residence where they allegedly found a deceased newborn infant inside a tote bag at the home.

EMS located the bag and found the infant dead with extensive neck injuries. An autopsy later confirmed the death was a homicide.
