JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) will begin the 2025 Thanksgiving Holiday Travel Period this week.
The travel period will kick off at 5:00 p.m. on November 26, 2025, and conclude on November 30, 2025, at midnight.

According to MHP, troopers will work to encourage safe travel by organizing high-visibility patrols to deter speeding and distracted driving. They will also conduct safety checkpoints to enforce occupant restraint laws and remove impaired drivers from Mississippi roadways.
“As we enter this Thanksgiving season, may we be reminded to be thankful for all things.
