Gov. Evers orders flags to half-staff to honor DHS nurse who died on duty

Gov. Tony Evers has ordered U.S. and Wisconsin flags to fly at half-staff Wednesday in honor of Tricia Ploessl, a Wisconsin Department of Health Services registered nurse who died unexpectedly last week while on duty at the Central Wisconsin Center.

Ploessl, 45, died Nov. 21 while working as a nurse clinician at the Madison facility, which provides short-term and residential services for people with intellectual disabilities. Evers issued Executive Order 280 directing flags to be lowered from sunrise to sunset on Nov. 26…
