New Orleans drug investigation results in seven arrests

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Seven people were arrested in connection with a drug investigation in New Orleans.

According to the Louisiana State Police, the investigation was prompted by a series of violent crimes, including two homicides, near 2825 Philip St. On Nov. 19, law enforcement launched Operation Traffic Control, a coordinated effort using various investigative techniques, including surveillance, targeted traffic stops on vehicles suspected of drug activity and support from Project NOLA. The operation aimed to disrupt criminal activity and enhance public safety.

Eight firearms were seized, two of which were allegedly stolen, along with nearly $12,000 in cash. In addition, law enforcement found 38 grams of cocaine, 34 grams of fentanyl and various drug paraphernalia.
