With the help of drones, dogs and a whistle, a mushroom hunter was rescued unharmed from a slippery situation in rural Washington County.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said a woman texted 911 for assistance around 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, after she realized he was unable to exit a slippery portion of land near Barney Reservoir, 10 miles west of Cherry Grove.
Authorities say a 72-year-old woman was collecting chanterelle mushrooms when she reported that she was stuck in the area “due to slick terrain and a steep incline.”…
