A new tool aimed at protecting newborns and their mothers during emergency transports is now in the hands of Northern Nevada first responders.
On Tuesday, the Nevada Emergency Medical Services for Children Program distributed AEGIS baby medical wraps to fire and ambulance agencies during an event at the Division of Public and Behavioral Health in Carson City. The wraps are designed for field use, giving EMS crews a safe way to transport newborns and mothers together while supporting skin-to-skin bonding, temperature regulation, and crash safety.
