Tylique Young, of Albany, was sentenced in Albany County Court Tuesday, Nov. 25,to 20 years after pleading guilty to assault, kidnapping, and robbery for the May attack inside his Orange Street residence.
Young held the victim captive for several hours, stole her phone, and repeatedly struck her with a hammer, including blows to her stomach, according to prosecutors.
The woman, who was 27 weeks pregnant with Young’s baby, was later rushed to Albany Medical Center, where doctors determined she had suffered a ruptured placenta. The baby died from the injuries…
