The DA’s office said the man pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter for the shooting on May 13, 2023, at Village Barber and Beauty. Court officials added that the Albany Police Department alleges that four men, who are members of an uptown gang, fired multiple handguns into the barbershop, killing 47-year-old barber Tyrone Staley and wounding a 19-year-old man and a 9-year-old boy.
Police also said they believe the intended target of the shooting was the 19-year-old man. The DA’s office said through his guilty plea, the 18-year-old will receive a three and a third to 10-year sentence on January 22.
