PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md (7News) — Earlier this month, U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Scott Turner announced massive cuts to HUD’s Continuum of Care Program, which pays the housing costs for hundreds of thousands of people across the country who might otherwise be homeless.
In a statement, HUD said the current “Housing First” ideology encourages “dependence on endless government handouts while neglecting the root causes of homelessness.”
