Asheville police launch annual Thanksgiving “Click It or Ticket” campaign

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The Asheville Police Department has officially launched its annual “Click It or Ticket” campaign for the week of Thanksgiving.

This statewide initiative, in partnership with the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program, promotes the use of seatbelts and aims to reduce preventable crash-related injuries and deaths.

North Carolina law requires all vehicle occupants, both in the front and back seats, to wear a seat belt whenever the vehicle is in motion. Violating these laws can result in a $180 fine, or $266 if a passenger under 16 is not properly restrained…
