North Carolina man identified as victim of fatal auto-pedestrian collision

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — The Charleston County Coroner’s Office identified Wednesday the pedestrian who was killed in a collision on I-526 on the Westmoreland Bridge Monday.

Kaleb Tilley, 23, from Mount Airy, North Carolina, died at 6:58 a.m. Tuesday at the Medical University of South Carolina, Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal said.

Tilley was a construction worker in a work zone at the time of the collision. Police said a pickup truck traveling on I-526 east struck a person’s hand and then hit Tilley who later died from his injuries…
