FCHS welcomed Deputy Jason Herring as its second School Resource Officer (SRO) alongside Sergeant Joshua Greene. Herring’s office is located near the girls’ bathroom in the Cafeteria.
Herring brings years of dedicated service with him, having been in law enforcement since 2007. From 2007-2010, he was a Virginia Department of Corrections correctional officer at the Augusta Correctional Center. After taking a break from law enforcement, he returned in 2014 as a correctional officer at the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail. He did many things there, such as working as a general or “floor” officer, watching over inmates all day. He also did transportation of inmates to and from other facilities, court hearings, and hospitals…
