Carjacking spree lands Memphis man over 20 years in federal prison

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man was sentenced to spend over 20 years in a federal prison for multiple carjackings in 2023, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.

Derrion Turner, 20, was convicted of committing two carjackings, an attempted carjacking, and related firearm offenses.

According to the attorney’s office, on August 25, 2023, Turner stole a 2016 Ford Mustang from a victim in the parking lot of a Circle K gas station on Highway 64 after he pointed a gun at the victim and demanded their wallet and keys.

And just six days later, on August 31, the attorney’s office stated that Turner held a victim at gunpoint and took her phone, as well as her 2018 Nissan Rogue, at an apartment complex…
