WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A woman allegedly living illegally in the U.S. for 30 years made an escape attempt from FHP custody in West Palm Beach, with the help of an accomplice who opened the patrol car door, only to be apprehended once again, officials say.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said that on Tuesday, a trooper stopped a blue Chevrolet pickup truck around 10:45 a.m. on Lake Worth Road after discovering that its driver, Gabriela Bonilla Lucas, 43, was driving without a valid license.
According to the probable cause affidavit, when the trooper approached the vehicle, Bonilla Lucas, whose identification was confirmed through border patrol, revealed she had been living in the United States illegally for 30 years…
