KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Regal Celebration of Lights is returning to Downtown Knoxville on Friday, with 6 News Anchors Bo Williams and Tearsa Smith hosting the tree lighting ceremony for their 20th year.
The lighting of the 42-foot tall Mickey Mallonee Christmas in the City Tree in the Krutch Park Extension is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 28.

Before the tree lighting, festivities kick off with live music by Jingle 5 starting at at 5:15 p.m. Following the tree lighting, there will be more performances at the Market Square Stage plus activities for children, including crafts with local businesses doing crafts, Home Depot’s Little Elves Workshop, and making cards to send to local veterans with Holidays for Heroes.
In addition to all the festivities, there will also be food trucks on site. Additionally, Friday is opening day for the Holidays on Ice skating rink in Market Square.
